hyperion was correct-I do have to retune my system now that I have new cables. I swapped out my preamp tubes, for different ones, and sure enough, the shininess went away,as did the bass hump and slight forwardness. The soundstage got much deeper, there is better center fill etc. Now it seems to have the best of both cables-the liquidness , speed,immediacy and quietness of the silver with the better soundstage smoothness of the Tara. I'll have to fiddle some more.
