Not questioning the inductor/loop-area - thought you had implied that the braided quad somehow lent a single-ended cable/signal common mode noise rejection, so I was merely examining that as it didn't seem possible.Ah, ok. No, just saying that reduced susceptibility in the cable is beneficial to single-ended as well as balanced interfaces.
And single-ended interfaces aren't all wholly without any common-mode rejection. Single-ended inputs are often feeding a differential input, but due to the impedance imbalance can't provide quite as much common-mode rejection than if the interfaces were balanced.
