I have found these to be very capable wires. They seem transparent and musical. I tried cables from Naim, Tara, Purist, AQ, Music Metre, Discovery, Wireworld, Alpha-Core/Goertz, Harmonic Technology, and several others that I do not recall at the moment, most in the 400-750 dollar range. Most of the wires seemed to strangle off the music a bit in my system (although some were nice in my ss system), seeming to lack warmth and natural timbre. The Oval 9 was simply more natural and musical than any of the others. At the price, that is a significant endorsement. I just added the bi-wire option to my system and that has further elevated the sound. Now, for the price of the average cable in my test group I have an excellent bi-wire arrangement.
