You got a point. I guess because nobody else made them?

Why would someone else have had to make them before it would be obvious to someone (skilled in the art or otherwise) that braids of more than three wires would also be possible?

The irony here is that anyone who Kimber might end up defending their patent against would find their best defense in Kimber's own products.

You'll note that the Kimber patent only cites other patents as references (including one of yours). Strange that someone patenting a four conductor braided cable makes no reference whatsoever to three conductor braided cables that have been in the public domain for at least two decades.

Seems to me that Homegrown or some other companies did make something similar, but this may have been later than the filing date.

Ultimately I think it's irrelevant. After having a three wire braid in the public domain for over two decades, a four wire braid simply isn't "not obvious."
