I've been through a similar process (see my review/followups on LASS ICs) but at a different price point...trying to stay under $1K for each since I needed at least 4, even 5 ICs for my system. I went through the usual high end recommendations at that price point, including Cardas Golden and Magnan and Silver Audio, etc. and spent nearly a year on my own quest, often spending as long as three months with just two or three contenders at a time, listening sessions with friends to check my perceptions, etc. I found the Luminous to handily beat them all, and at an attractive price as well. Bob Crump also sells the Luminous under his own marque, so 'nuf said...I think you would very happy and should try them as well. Now, onto speaker cables, I have recently tried and reviewed the Holograms, and though they are quite good, they aren't really a neutral cable in my opinion. I would cast my net a bit wider before considering them a bargain, or even a strong recommendation. I've been doing a long trial, it will be a year this January, with speaker cables and the Holograms, while nice and forgiving, really kill the ambient cues of a venue and sharply reduce the leading/trailing ends/edges of transients. Your mileage may vary.
