I've compared balanced versions of Mogami Cable against a balanced Analysis Plus Solo Crystal Ovals and the Mogami is not bad at all..I have found that in balanced use cable differences seem less noticable...which points to some interesting inquiry as to WHY cables REALLY sound different from each other...is it all a matter of interfacing compatibility?
I hear noticeable differences between cables in High, Medium AND Low resolution systems so for me the question is WHY? I know there are many theories but it seems to me compatibility based on fundamental cable characteristics such as capacitance etc., and system synergy are central to the discussion.
In a professional setting most boxes are run balanced where possible and I always found balanced to sound SOOOO much better...remember its also carrying signal at a higher voltage and that surely changes the dynamic.
