RE: Did You Notice

The argument of pro audio cables vs. audiophile cables has been discussed many times. While a number of recording studio engineers choose audiophile cables for tracking and mixing purposes, there is often a clear divide between the two camps. There is nothing special about a Mogami cable that will compete with a high-performance audiophile cable other than it's comparatively inexpensive to wire a recording studio with Mogami cables vs. more expensive audiophile cable designs. A primary reason why pro audio end users tend to reject the notion of audiophile products is prejudice against the notion based on a fundamental disbelief rather than a judgement based on direct evaluations.

More and more audiophile cable companies are offering pro audio product lines intended for recording studios and musicians that are willing to spend more for higher-performance, and with more open minded engineers who value better performance via audiophile products. Search the AA archives for comparisons of pro audio cables such as Mogami and Canare vs. audiophile cables, and you will find little evidence of inexpensive pro audio cables that match the performance level of audiophile products. I and many other audiophiles have enough experience of Mogami and Canare products to understand this matter. That said, pro audio cables are inexpensive enough for your own personal evaluation process.
