Looks similar to the ready made Belden 9497 speaker cable (see above). 16 ga. 19 x 29 twisted tin coated copper stranded cable with PVC insulation. Reputed to be a low cost favorite in Japan and used as internal wiring in Shindo loudspeakers.
Haven't heard it myself, but I've seen listings for it on Ebay in lengths typical for connecting to speakers.
Vintage Western Electric 16 ga. tinned copper cable (see below) is also a favorite amongst some, but currently difficult to find.
