Well, in my experience, speaker cables are much more important than power cords.
Every time I have changed speaker cables, the differences were very audible. I have bought and diyed power cords, I believe they matter, but with my power amp, I went back to the stock cord. I think power cords should be the last type of cable to experiment with. Every IC is important and everything we listen to goes through those speaker cables.
That is my experience, your's may be different, I just don't want a newcomer to dismiss the importance of having a good system matched set of speaker cables.
I think if the OP gets ahold of Jim, he will get the best advice that it usually takes money to buy. Jim has literally written the book on Good Sound;-)
