Well I did subscribe to a rec.audio newsgroup back in the 1990s. However I did the newsgroup equivalent of lurking and I don't remember contributing anything. But it was a long time ago and memory plays tricks. It wouldn't have been tubes though as I didn't get involved with them until around 2009. So probably another PAR but I can't be sure.
Those Philosophy Hypothesis cables never had any proper retail presence and you had to know someone connected with the electrical engineering consultancy that made them to be offered some. They were really made for the consultancy's own purposes while they worked on some well known amplifiers for Japanese major producers. Very expensive for the time and for a company without any marketing or retail support costs. The Hypothesis was around 1K gbp a metre. I still hear them regularly on a friend's Lamm pre/Renaissance Audio 300B push pull/Quad ESL system.
