Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

Just A Matter Of Days

Remember: NO amount of regular playing equals, or even comes close to, what a proper cable burn-in device can do.

The VIDAR (all Nordost dealers are required to have one) has lights, which indicate when a cable is done. Bi-wire jumpers are really just short speaker cables. As such, they usually take 5-6 days on the VIDAR.

I've treated myriad bi-wire jumpers on the audiodharma Cable Cooker. Most need just 4 days of Cook time.

Damn, I'm searching my archives, and I can't find photos of our old Nordost Valhalla bi-wire jumper. Back in 2007, this set of 4 retailed for $2400 or $2500! After being Cooked, the Valhalla BWJ minimized the loss, when strapping binding posts. Once you had such a product, then you could experiment with where the single-wire speaker cable went first. The older Totems preferred the speaker cable to enter at the tweeter post. However, the newer Totem Element Fire, perhaps because it has a minimalist crossover, sounds better when the speaker cable goes first into the woofer posts.

Oh yeah. Perhaps in 2004, we had Alpha-Core Goertz bi-wire jumpers, which were really metal sheets shaped like a stick of gum, with holes cut out in the side. These strips worked well in those awful "stair-stepped" binding posts, such as those found on the Sonus Faber Concertino and Totem Arro. These Alpha-Core metal strips benefitted significantly, from the Cable Cooker.

After you place a bi-wire jumper (or any cable) on a cable burn-in device, all this grain and distortions go away. Thus, the cable is able to pass signal unimpeded. And you will be AMAZED, at how much more information gets passed from component to component, and out through your speakers.
