Hello - If you can somehow obtain/borrow any upgraded (from a generic molded-connector type) PC, I would first try it on the player/transport and note any changes you perceive. If you hear an improvement it would be worthwhile to look further.

While not what you asked about, I happened to see a Stealth PC (though costlier than the amount you indicated) at the link below. If you could arrange with a dealer to try one, this may be of some use.
