Home Cable Asylum

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

RE: Bloody rude posting skills.

I never indicated that cable must be expensive to be good. The cable I use for my main speakers cost little more than the BJC stuff because it is very short and I made it myself. I am not concerned with pecking order based on price or any other criterion. If you love BJC, that's great. Glad you found the right cable for your system.

I welcome the opportunity to compare cables unsighted. I'm confident I can discern the difference if there is one. It's not hard to do. BJC is decent entry level cable. It's cheap and sturdy if all you want is cheap and sturdy. It's called Blue Jeans for that reason. It doesn't do anything badly, but neither is it highly resolving. I have recommended it to others and use it myself where economy trumps accuracy.

This is a contentious topic and perhaps we take it too seriously. Any suggestion should stand on its own merit. The OP spent a lot of money on his stereo and knows little about cable but is interested to learn. Some of you made very personal or parsimonious recommendations that might not serve him well. Others offered vague platitudes and no really helpful information. Is this a forum for discussion or a kindergarten where everyone gets a trophy for participating? Make a suggestion that I think is bad and I'll say so, and give reasons for it. I try to not criticize other posters personally. If anyone takes offense, it was not intended. I mean to be assertive, not rude.

Oh well, it's no longer important because I think he got scared off by the inmates. This is all so petty. I'm done with this thread. Next suggestion will be eBay mil-spec silver plated copper with PVC insulation, and no one should say a thing against it.

Peace,
