RE: Cable advice for new system

I was in the same boat as you. I use a 20 foot pair of speaker cables as my rack is on the opposite wall from the speakers. I have the wires going under the floor. I was using Audioquest Indigo Blue for a long time and switched to Groneberg Quattro Reference cables that Klaus at Odyssey sells. I purchased them because my amp is wired with the same cable. I paid 1000.00 for the 20 foot pair with spades at all ends.

Another brand that comes to mind is the Kimber 4TC or the VS line of cable. You can get double the gauge of the VS compared to the 4TC but they all have the same house sound. Weather you will like it or not is a different story. A grand is the most I would ever spend on a 20 foot pair of cables. I laugh when I see people buying 12,000.00 power cords and cables. First of all, there is no wire in the world worth that kind of insane money, there must be a million percent profit on those and I doubt I could ever hear the difference between a thousand dollar set of wires or the 12 thousand dollar ones.

Buy used, you will save a lot of money and you can usually get them for less than half of retail.
