15A vs 20A IEC

I've long been advocating eliminating the 15A IEC from (good) hi-fi gear in favor of the 20A IEC. Those who have both know what I mean. The blades are horizontal, not vertical and have well over 2X the surface area which to me is the key.

I've had equipment that draws less than an amp audibly benefit from the bigger 20A IEC. It has nothing to do with the current draw of the piece of gear either its surface area and one more thing. The 20A IEC stays completely seated! We've all had a robust power cord with 15A IEC come loose or even fall completely out of the socket. The seating depth is too little (much more on a 20A) and too easy to remove.

So if you have a chance look at a 20A IEC pair (male/female) and see how superior they plug and stay together. It is pretty easy to modify any gear and remove the stock 15A IEC in favor of a 20A and worth the effort for sound and stability.
