Home Cable Asylum

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

The problem is the associated equipment alters the results. Yours is not mine...

So no matter what sort of comparison done, the results cannot be translated to some other persons system, as all the parameters are different.
Even the needs of the listener.
Does that audiophile like 'X" or "Y" sound type better?
Plus what if their equipment is biased some other way, and the cord they recommend thus is biased to compensate? Or the room.. etc.Endless variables.

I agree the only real answer is to 'do it yourself'.
No one else has the answer for you. (Though that does not stop people from hoping for an easy out)

Finding your own answer really makes you too into a 'guru' instead of another inept audiophile begging for guidance.

Now I do have to say some reliance on what has already been written can help.. no need to start from scratch. But one still has to do the work and make up your own mind.
