Connecting passive pre to power amp.Only capacitance counts?

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

Tried few cables with low capacitance. At parity of capacitance(low to avoid high freq roll-off) I seems to prefer the 50 centimeters cables vs the 1 meter.
It seems to me the passive likes better shorter cables than the real lowest capacitance.
Can anybody confirm that paramount requirement is shorter cable instead of capacitance? Thanxs
