I expect he thought it would be much more productive to go on a social media site and rant about the fact that he couldn't get a simple piece of wire to work than to look to see if there was a loose connection.
I don't blame this guy; I blame myself: I wasted my career selling consumer electrionics when I could have been teaching grade school students fundamental physics so they could take some responsibility for fixing things around the house rather than calling in an electrician, plumber or mechanic.
