I have 2 forgotten ones in a box with other cables. All the others cables are fine except for these, with a rotten (chemically) jacket in a sticky cracked peeling mess.
I have seen cables exposed to the elements harden and discolour, but I have never seen anything like this.
Fortunately, I can re-sleeve these over the tinned copper shield but relatively expensive Swiss made mains cables should never be like this.
