RE: Coax for IC?

Coax for single-ended IC's can be a good way to go, especially if you are seeking a simple DIY assembly.

It should be noted that there are some pretty good commercially available twisted pairs in stock form too, such as Belden 89207 or 89272.

However, these do not have optimal twisted pair geometry, and that is why I recommend doing a DIY twisted pair using bits and pieces from other cables.
