RE: DIY DC Umbilical for Outboard PSU

The cable and xhadow XLR's are on the way. I look forward to any improvements over the original Belden 8422 Switchcraft XLR combination.

As far as attaching the shield at the power supply side only, can you tell me why this is preferred? The original Belden cable has it attached at both sides.
