While the notion of higher priced cables is not snake oil deception, the law of diminishing returns may apply to a vintage application, especially when an old-school audiophile aesthetic might be sought by a listener. Unless a very long speaker cable is required for your particular system, I think a more authentic vintage presentation might involve a smaller gauge speaker cable. For only twice the low-budget $1 per foot price of 10 AWG Belden 5T00UP, you might consider Wireworld Stream 16/2. While I have no direct experience of it, I reckon it would perform well in a vintage system.
