Black cat's new release looks interesting. I have a pair of the Morpheus ICs, which have some outstanding strengths and may be killer in many systems. In mine, the nitpicks keep it out of critical use. Nitpicks on the old morpheus ICs for me include -- a touch of darkness (which greatly lessens with extended break in), lack of fine tonal vibrancy (many people would not notice this), and some lack in the hugest of macrodynamics.
The cable's strengths are so great for the price that I am still interested in the new ones, in hopes that these issues might be improved. The ICs are smooth, throw huge soundstage and are dimensional, have very good dynamics and center of the earth solidity, are very quiet and have superb detail and texture. Also, their sense of rhythm is outstanding -- the best I have heard. These are some of the most musically mesmerizing cables I've heard at any price (I've never had an IC which listed for more than $850 play in my system).
The basic materials of the conductors looks the same, so I'm not optimistic that my concerns would be any different. I'd imagine that many systems may find these ICs to be outstanding, however.
