I am not an expert on cable geometry or metallurgy, but if you can get some Cardas copper and build a cable using the Cardas geometry that should mellow things out a bit. I also agree with the well borne out thinking that silver in almost any construction adds speed and treble energy. If you are averse to that sort of sound it is best to stick with copper. Cast copper has always appealed to me but the Cardas cable I have has really improved my system, whereas I hardly notice the effect of the "single crystal" copper cables I have used.
