Now I have to buy MORE of them.
Damn.
All I did was stick the new four meter cable on my Furman powerconditioner in place of the Pangea three meter regular AC9.
Right off it was different.
First warmer than normal, and the clarity was off. but twenty minutes that cleared up.
What seems to be most noticable is an increase in dynamics. A little better bass.
As it all was off a conditioner (but still keeping all the positives from being on a conditioner)
So there is that.
Music is a little more 'interesting. Whether that is just my putzing or real is ???Part of my own ?? is the length. Does four meters matter some? Or can I just buy a three meter and stick it in this spot and move the 4 meter to what I bought it for which is from Furman to amp.
Listened to some of my favorite stuff. Carmina Burana on Telarc (original) is nice. PJ Harvey 4 track demos is as annoying/crappy as it should be. Amazing stuff anyway, crude as it is, then on to To Bring You My Love. much better sound.
Mozart Extante jubilante with Emma Kirkby. great. (i love her voice.)So it is interesting to my own experience that i can say a better powercord, just an upgrade, makes a noticable difference TO a power conditioner from the wall. Amazing. This is three hours after plugging it in.
So far it seems worthwhile. And I probably have to buy a few more. This is the part that pisses me off!!
Right now listening to one of my all time favorite i use to compare stuff: Slagerij Van Kampen "Long Walk on a Short Pier". o love it. All his other (later) stuff is Musak, but this one is great african based music. Jeez the bass really is better. from midbass on down. Better 'punch' too.
Wow. i am delerious. And STILL PISSED OFF I have to buy more of these Pangea AC9ES powercables.. Grrrr...Added: after another day of break in. What I still notice is the greater dynamic, and slightly stronger bass... More balanced across the sound spectrum than before. Prior it was a little lean. Now more natural. more PRAT is a feeling i get. better attack too.
All from one cord from wall to conditioner... i am suprised.
And i am pretty sure i am leaving it there. If i buy another one for power conditioner to amp.. maybe. All of this is naturally subtle. but really hearable.
This was a worthwhile purchase.Added more: two days in: listening to Rossini: Barber of Seville and notice a greater clarity and sense of subtle intonation detail in singers voices. This is a recording I have owned since early 1980s.. I must have listened to this a hundred times by now.. So i know it pretty well.... Also as if 'blacker blacks' in place around voices? Easier to hear detail.
Even later. Now I am just used to it... though i do feel it is better than it was before.
More later... The one feeling i get is warmer. Just a better feeling to the notes. Like putting in a really great preamp tube can better the sound with a good tube. Just really sings.
I hit a home run with this cable and sticking it in this location.
natually it is not just the cable, it is the confluence of all the parts happen to make this work well for me.
