Update on Crimson IC Cables

I bought a set of Crimson IC cables in May have been listening with them in three different systems: 1) AN (UK) digital front end + AN (UK) 300B integrated + AN-KSpe speakers, 2) Same front end and speakers + deHavilland UV3 preamp + Fi 2A3 monos (with 2A3 and 45 tubes), 3) MacBook Pro + Wavelength Proton + SinglePower MPX-3 head amp + various head phones.

In each system the Crimson replaced an AN(UK) Vx IC from the digital front-end to the next component. All the other cables were AN Vx ICs and AN SPe speaker cables.

With all of these systems, the AN Crimson delivered a more natural, less romantic/colored and realistic presentation of the music I was listening to whether it was pop, country and western, chamber music or complex symphonic music. The tone with the 2A3 and 45 tubes which was pretty natural to begin with, thanks to the design of the Fi monos, sounded both more realistic and lively, with tighter bass and cleaner, jolting highs.

These cables can do a lot, but it will always depend on the manner in which you enjoy recorded being served. If, for example, one is in love with the engaging romantic quality of AN(UK) products, you may not like something more natural and realistic.

On the other hand....

Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
