A logical approach might be to first swap out the amplifiers, keeping the current configuration of cables for each system in place. Then, swap-out the speaker cables and evaluate which set performs more satisfactorily to your ear. You may need to repeat the process if a notable difference for better or worse is not immediately obvious, but if first impressions and continued listening sessions are clearly for the better, I would see no reason to second guess the new configuration.
