last week. But I just got the Diamond USB cable for my computer audio system and it definitely sounds different than the much cheaper Carbon. I will leave the value issue for each to decide, but I like it.
Regarding HDMI, the M series Monster Cable bested the Audioquest (lower end cables) for our HDTVs. And this was the unanimous opinion of everyone in the house. HDMI cable differences are very easy to see on a good HDTV, IMHO.
