Break-in expectations for ICs using Neotech NEI 3001?

Hi all:

I've recently gotten a nicely made set of 2M, RCA terminated IC cables, which utilize the well thought of OCC cable made by Neotech.. the NEI 3001.

I don't want to get into exactly where the cable is from & doubt it's hugekly relevant for this question, but suffice to say.. a very professional build to these, with nice Furutech terminations and all around 1st class service. The builder is very experienced with this wire and the terms are plenty large enough to accomodate this wire.

At any rate.. these puppies have been cryoed, cooked in and for the better part of 50 hours or so.. Run in their intended spot, between my amp & linestage.

My main question: They're still very much lifeless, with very little to no real extension, "sparkle" and even the noted warmth and bass prowess (what i've read of this OCC wire) is mostly absent.

I'd say that they aren't real bright or "peaky" anymore. They were a for a bit before. When I first popped them into the system, they were VERY warm, with significant low end energy, though that went away pretty quickly.

As time has wore on, I began to doubt my front end sources, but since further refining my cartridge setup & now having listened to both my vinyl front end and a tubed tuner, through a different set of cables.. I can rest easy, it IS the cables that are hampering the sonics, no doubt there.

While it's been a longer time to get these sorted out than I imagined, i know it must be the cables not being run in yet. So the plan is to stick with the burn in process.. and i'll likely run my rig all through the night again, via my tuner feeding the signal.

Any experience with this type of cable and the break in aspects?

I've heard that the cryo treatment, the air dialectric, the teflon insulator.. all this can contribute to a really long break in; but i'm getting a little worn down as it's been two weekends and a lot of the work-week of listening to some, semi-painful tunes. I'm Just hoping these puppies will turn a corner soon.

Any opinions or experiences to relate would be appreciated!

Regards, Marc
