Actually you can get a 2nd hand PS audio duet/quintent under $200 but you need to look around forums. I also used SINE power conditioner for my AV system, are they an improvement? I really don't know but I guess it gives me peace of mind. for PS audio I bought it simply because of the surge protection and it saved my gear once recently.
My advice is to stay away China brand especially cheap models and reliability is still an issue amongst them. Best to look for 2nd hand brand. You may try AV consignment shop, there is one in Central and MongKok.
