We would suggest not using it all!

Best home made cable would be a non-shielded
4 wire. Connect two wires for the hot side and the
other two for the low side, having opposite
wires connected together, not next to each other.

You can try both ways for fun.

Shielding gets in the way of the propogation
of the audio signal.
