to the contrary, opening up the cable greatly enhances the top end extension and sweetness. The same concept is carried out on the upper end models of the Kimber line up, in their Monocle and Select series. You can simply compress the cable and it will "fluff" up and you can hear the difference even without any stuffing. I have used everything from a rope to some 1/2 inch aquarium tubing all with good results. The idea is to space the conductors further apart but also to have the positive and negative leads at roughly 90 degrees to each other in order to minimize inductance. Opening the weave will shorten the cable by about 20 per cent.
I did not particularly like the older black and blue TC series. The newer clear and white is significantly improved in performance, being more linear and avoids some nasty humps in the frequency response of the older cable.
