I discussed what I was hearing with Grover and he immediately sent replacements with slightly different shielding (still called SC Dot). These are the best cables I have heard in my system. I returned the originals and have ordered two more pairs to completely outfit my HiFi.I'm keeping the BEL "The Wire" P1 for my AV system and the LAT International IC-200 MkII are going to my son. I still think all three are good cables for the money but Grover's are the clear winners in my system. The bass has good weight and is well articulated, the highs shimmer like never before without sounding exaggerated or un-natural, and the midrange has the best purity I've heard from my system - I daresay it would be tough to trounce on any system. Based on careful listening to familiar reference recordings of upright bass, drums, piano, female vocal, acoustic guitar, and other "naked" recordings Grover's cables give the most honest tonal balance while delivering outstanding imaging/soundstaging. Piano in particular sounds very convincing which is rare in my experience with solid state amps (of course the BEL 1001 MkV amps get a lot of the credit here as well).
SPEAKER CABLES
These are also keepers. They unseated a pair from a well known manufacturer retailing for more than 4X the price. Initially I perceived that they lacked some of the warmth or bass weight of my previous speaker cables but in the end I decided that these were artifacts. I use a single pair (not biwire) with the Cardas Golden Reference jumpers supplied by speaker manufacturer Merlin. The two-way floor standing monitors are designed around the Cardas jumpers and biwiring is not recommended for the Merlin VSM MXe.POWER CORD
Received one yesterday and haven't done any listening yet but I read very good things about them. Stay tuned! Is anyone else trying Grover's cables? Obviously I've been very pleased with the products and service I have received.
