Quality of parts is an issue. The latest R-C I have made with one good cap and resistor like the Walker outdoes the Chris D 3 stage design using its recommended parts, in my system anyway. I also take Al's advice of using a set at the amp and at the speaker and I also biamp and therefore biwire and have four total. I use a shielded design as well on all versions I built. Also I can speak to this well because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that has built ALL of the versions of this "device" discussed here.
