I just got a pair of straightwire chorus ic from a local dealer with a very decent deal, pretty cheap, to use with my small bedroom system. So after arriving home I thought I'd try with my main system first which consists oh audiomeca transport + assemblage dac + vtl pre + bat vk 60 amp with nordost red dawn from dac to pre and cardas cross from ore to amp. So I tried it by replacing the red dawn with the chorus with absolutely no expectation that it would come any closer to the rd. But right out of the box the sound stage opened up with detailed that I've not heard from the same album. With vocal and instrument like saxophone I was so stunned and it was so musically involving. After 3 songs I couldn't resist turned on my Iphone wifi and logged on here to post this thread to ask and share with you guys how good it is. I got it very cheap new in box. Couldn't believe it is this great. I have a set of maestro which I have used it for many years but it was not so stunning like this one. Might be that the maestro one was designed many years ago and the chorus has better new technology????but why it sounds better than the reddawn (in my system of course).
