I doubt if your 4PR

is causing your peakiness. If your cables are long enough, have you tried simply puffing the cables up but pushing them together? Start off with a small length say about 6 inches and push the length together, the cable will shorten but you will see the weave sort of puff up and create a sort of counter-wound woven tube. You'll lose about 20% of your total length but the sound will significantly improve, as you are reducing inductance and capacitance. There is a gain in the the top end detail and overall dynamics. If you like that you can simply stuff a piece of rope or aquarium tubing down the middle to give the cables an "exotic" look.

Works well for the more expensive cables in the Kimber line also. The VS series has quite a bit more punch over the PR and more bass. The TC in the new colors clear and white, has been significantly improved: much more linear and cleaner to boot. But try the puffing of the cables first, if possible. Cheap and it emulates the geometry of the Monocles and other cables in the upper end of Kimber's line ( since you already have the cables). If you don't like what you hear, just pull the cable taut and its back to normal.
