I used the Kimber 4 TC ( single and biwire ) at one time in an all SS system. They were transparent and detailed.
Perhaps what you need are cables ( if indeed this is the issue ) that are more to your liking. A place to start would be solid core copper cables from Audioquest available for sale on Audio Adisor .com
They are available in your price range and are generally thought of being smooth sounding but not lacking detail. I use Audioquest Bedrock and am very satisfied ( don't know if theses are still available). Either single run with jumpers or biwire would be fine.
