...Connect them and listen . Then connect the other way round. If you can hear a difference and you prefer one way to the other then that's the right direction. If you can't hear it then it doesn't matter.

Of course you may not know the directional relationship of one cable to the other. So do the direction finding one one cable at a time marking the preferred direction. Use the same channel for each test to obviate other influences.
