RE: 7m Flavor 2 type cord - capacitance too high?

I've gone for my type of design because its the only one that fits under a doorway and still allows for a heavy enough gauge to cater for the Flavour (notice the British 'u' - its not CVH stuff now;) 4s I have on my system. Can't see a *major* difference between mine and his as what he himself used to use was some belden twisted cable. Granted it still had a teflon jacket. What I'm using might not have teflon but it is of decent quality. Also, the way I'm twisting it may not be as precise and consistent as what he has on offer but it is pretty consistent and still way more consistent than what anybody could braid up for a CVH CAT5 speaker cable (where it seems it would be far more critical). Mine, in the end, do sound pretty good when compared to the Eupen cable, which is very highly regarded as a budget cable (and the same one used in many higher priced snake-oil type cords), that I used before (only on the CD player, of course). Anyway, I use the names Flavor 2 and 4 to give people an idea of the geometry I'm using, without having to go into huge long explanations about it, and I always do highlight the differences.

Someone in another thread suggested doing without the hosing but he didnt actually go into why when asked. This person actually said 'who knows, maybe your design will be more effective that CVHs'. I doubt this but it does illustrate the point that there is no hard and fast rule. I expect this cable to be superior to what a lot of people have running from their fuse box on their dedicated lines.

CVH does put his ideas up on his site to allow for people to experiment with as they please. Me, I'm really quite new to all this and am willing to try all things. I at least know, and even marvel at, how subject and nuanced the whole pursuit (of finding 'perfect' audio, that is) is. I don't see why there has to be any snobbishness about it, but I suppose it's an easy trap to fall into...

My question was simply about the effect of capacitance on a long run of fairly tightly twisted cable that was insulated in some 'standard', non-teflon material, thinking that someone would have at least a little knowledge about and/or experience with this. The only thing I got out of your message was that at least the capacitance won't be anywhere near as high as in a Flavour 4 cable, which is reassuring. Everything else was just a bit unnecessary (in tone that is)...
