Hi,Am currently undergoing a fairly massive DIY operation - to twist up about 7 meters of 6mm2 (9awg) stranded wire a la the VH Flavor 2, with two conductors going one way and the ground counter-spiralled. The main differene being the ground is next to the inner conductors, as opposed to outside the tubing - this had to be done to allow the cable to fit under a door.
I heard that twisting or braiding increases capacitance, especially in something like the CAT5 braided speaker cable (which I'm also working on). Is my design going to cause problems in this regard? It's a cable that will run straight from the fuse box to create a dedicated line for my system. Should I save myself the hassle and go with the straight wire (even though I've slaved over about 2m already)? The twists are about an inch long - could that be an issue?
