Yes. THe magwire is solid core and IME the bass can be better with one solidcore thin conductor than thicker stranded configurations.

NOw better is different to different people. In this case, I think the better definition and pace is what you are looking for. If so this is a good start.

ANyhow, it is a $6 investment at Ratshack. Maybe $8 total if you don't have any sand paper which is needed to strip the wire.

It is worth a try...really nothing to lose.
