8TC Is A Bad Choice

Even after it's been Cooked, the 8TC is a warm-sounding cable. It is not what you want to control the bass. If you get the 8TC with the clear/white/yellow colors, it will sound slightly cleaner and more transparent than the old blue/black scheme. The dye in the Teflon affects signal flow.

For $150, the Stereovox HDJC (pictured above) is a bargain. It sounds even, clean, balanced, transparent -- exactly what you want a cable to do. It is nominally a banana-to-banana product, but comes with slip-on spades. So you can have it anyway you want.
