to learn that the XLO design was partially taken from Jim Patric's Music Metre signature series: a flat ribbon type cable. MM simply lined up the conductors parallel rather than winding them around a hollow tube as did XLO, although Jim was already experimenting with a hollow core Music Metre two and three design, shielded with that configuration,. XLO did counter-wind the positive and negatives though and enclose the harness in a very tight teflon heat shrink.
The gauges XLO used are identical to the Music Metre though, and IIRC Roger Skoff (sp?) interviewed Jim as a writer for Sounds Like Magazine and Jim unwisely told him a bit more than he should have had, never realizing that many of his ideas were to be absorbed by XLO.
