Personally i wouldnt DIY an IC cable...all DIY cables oxidize a lot faster than professionally made cables which have gas tight connections and usually air tight seals from the outside air.

Holding everything equal the ill affects of oxidation will be greater on a low voltage IC vs. a High Voltage Power cord for example.

But if your dead set on building your own I would get silver and some good silver solder.
