I've recieved the Pear Comice speaker cables. I'm going to get used to the sound using the Pear Comice and then switch back to standard Monster XPHP speaker cable. I don't anticipate that there will be a lot of difference but we'll see.

The system looks like this (simple, decent, and not expensive):
EAD CD-1000 mkIII
Superphon SP 100 (SS passive) or Tube Technology Seer (12ax7 tube active)
Stan Warren custom built 60watt chip amp
Buggtussel Circa 2-way monitors

IC's and power cords are decent and the CDP and preamp are plugged into an Audio Magic Matrix power conditioner and the amp is connected to a dedicated circuit.

As you can see, this is not an extraodinary set-up but rather a typical real-world entry-level 2 channel system.
