The 'harder' or more stable the materials are
that are used in cables will tends to revert back
to its original crystaline 'state' if a
'light burn current' is used.

We made our version of a burn-in box and bought
others for in house tests.

As you would guess some were useless
others did ok.

Having two pairs of each cable tested, we used one set
for control, no burn-in : original, the other sets were
burned-in.

We let the burned-in cables rest for 1 month
no use of any kind.

Then our golden ear guy tested for differences
and our network analyzer graphs showed changes,
for good or bad we do not know we were not allowed
to do further testing at that time.
Softer insulator materials are easier to
'burn-in'.

Now we have left that company it would be something
to test out.

We did some cryo and found that the graphs of
all S-paramters measured reverted back to the original
states graphically after being left alone for 3 days at STP.
