Howdy

I've not broken any TOSLink cables, even when the cat chewed them a time or two. Most cheaper optical cables are plastic and there isn't a big risk. I have some ST glass cables (for another device) and they come tightly wound too. I do try to treat them more carefully, but people have stepped on them and I haven't noticed any problem.
