Seller admitted full responsibility and bought, of his own pocket, an after-market voltage transformer that has apparently been endorsed by an associate at Arcam as the best solution to my problem. It's a little nerve-wracking, but my seller's e-mail came complete with contact info for the person at Arcam who said that this is what I should do. We'll see when it gets here....

....So now we can get back to crisis number ONE, which was, how to connect this thing so that I don't drop 3.1 channels of audio on the floor!
