TOSLINK = a registered trademark of Toshiba Corporation and hence the origin of the name: TOShiba-LINK. Variations of the name are often seen, such as TOSlink, TosLink, and Tos-link. The generic name for the standard is EIAJ optical. TOSLINK is a standardized optical fiber connection system. Its most common use is in consumer audio equipment (via a "digital optical" socket), where it carries a digital audio stream....

Coax = the digital coax input. Both stereo channels are carried on this one connector (or the one optical connector). The digital coax interconnect cable is identical to some analog interconnect cables and different from some. Here's info: http://bluejeanscable.com/store/digital-audio/index.htm
Doesn't your unit have a voltage selector switch on the back? If so, you only need to switch that and get a cord with a plug that fits your wall receptacle. If it doesn't have the switch, it can likely be changed inside fairly easily by anyone who knows what they're doing.
