A couple of other cheap alternatives that reportedly sound good are:
1) Acoustic Research cables - even the top of the line is pretty inexpensive.
2) Starlink DSS cables - it says digital cables but they work surprisingly well for audio. Obviously for the price you get extreme cheapo connectors which you can replace with better connectors. If you do a search you'll find a number of comments on these from a couple years back.
By the way, don't knock Home Depot. There are people on the Asylum who are using Home Depot for their speaker cables with $3000 speakers, and they used to use the high priced spread. It ain't necessarily so that more expensive is better, let your ears be your guide. If you want to try an expensive set to see what kind of differences you will or will not hear, the options are borrowing from a local dealer if they are willing to lend a set, or contact The Cable Company (www.theCableCo.com) on the internet. They loan out cables for a modest sum (IIRC about 5-10 % of the cost of a cable but I haven't used them in several years) which you can apply to a purchase if you decide it's worth the money. No business relationship, just a former customer.
